Peggy Sue Reveal New Single Details

PS_MikeMassaro_W4_3_MAIN
Having just returned from a successful US tour, Peggy Sue are pleased to announce that the next single to be taken from their highly acclaimed third album Choir of Echoes will be Figure of Eight, which is set for release on April 14th.

Peggy Sue are set to embark on a full UK tour in April following the recent US stint and have also just been announced for the End of the Road festival line up.

In the words of the band, Figure of Eight is “the exception to most of our rules. It was written almost entirely in practices by the whole band and it is about as upbeat as a Peggy Sue song gets. It appears in my head as a sort of balancing act where each of the four instrumental parts is holding up the rest. Some kind of musical Escher diagram.

“It is about indecision and friendship and the danger of keeping your options open for too long.”

Listen to Figure of Eight here.

Listen To A New Cloud Nothings Track From Their Upcoming Album

CN_PoonehGhana-34rs

Listen to Psychic Trauma by Cloud Nothings here: https://soundcloud.com/cloudnothings/psychic-trauma

“I have a tendency to over-think things, which is generally a bad idea.” says Cloud Nothings front-man Dylan Baldi, echoing something most of us can relate to in an over stimulated world. “‘Psychic Trauma’ is an exaggerated phrase that refers to that tendency. The whole record, lyrically and musically, is about simplifying and more or less discovering yourself through that simplification.” he explains further. “Keeping thoughts simple and in the present, as opposed to the ruminating ‘Psychic Trauma’ sort of zone, is a much better way to live. for me, at least.”

The track is taken from the band’s upcoming album Here And Nowhere Else, out on 31st March. Pre-order now on itunes or on deluxe LP and CD formats

Sky Larkin have unveiled a new video for Newsworthy – watch here: http://youtu.be/EgYzSFUFwWg

The song is taken from the band’s recent third album, Motto. The video is produced by visual artist Dan Tombs (collaborator with Gold Panda, Jon Hopkins and Factory Floor). It utilizes footage taken from Prelinger Archives of educational, industrial and amateur films, and has been visually treated by the artist. Cloud Nothings Announce New Album + European Tour Dates

CloudNothingsCVR_15cm_300dpi

Cloud Nothings have announced details of their next LP Here And Nowhere Else, out on 31st March and recorded with John Congleton. The tracklisting for the album is as follows:

Now Hear In
Quieter Today
Psychic Trauma
Just See Fear
Giving Into Seeing
No Thoughts
Pattern Walks
I’m Not Part of Me

Utilizing every possible opportunity to write while on the road for 18 consecutive months following the release of 2012′s Attack on Memory, Baldi presented an album’s worth of new material to his bandmates with just days before they’d enter the studio. “I’m pretty sure every song was written in a different country,” he says. “It’s the product of only having a couple of minutes here and there.” But Cloud Nothings would enjoy a full week with Congleton at Water Music in Hoboken, New Jersey, followed by three days of mixing at his own studio in Dallas shortly thereafter. The result is Cloud Nothings, refined: impossibly melodic, white-knuckle noise-rock that shimmers with sumptuous detail, from Baldi’s lone, corkscrewing guitar to his dramatically improved singing to bassist TJ Duke’s piledriving bass lines and drummer Jayson Gerycz’s volcanic fills.

“It’s more subtle,” says Baldi. “It’s not just an in-your-face rock record. There’s more going on. You can listen to a song 20 times and still hear different little things in there that you didn’t notice before. Every time I listen I notice something that I didn’t even realize we did.”
